Sip Craft Beer Pub opens in Ellettsville; The Elm adds Sunday brunch

The Sip Pub
A new brew pub opened on Feb. 27. The Sip Craft Beer Pub is at 5920 W. Ind. 46 in Ellettsville just east of Bender Lumber.

The pub has 10 taps from various beers, including stouts, IPAs, lagers and sours. The mix includes brews from Civilian Brewing Corps in Spencer, Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville, Feed Store Brewing Company in Bloomfield and Heartwork Brewing in Bloomington. Domestic beers, seltzers and single bottles of red and white wine are also available. The pub also has non-alcoholic and gluten-free beer options.

Co-owner Greg Daniels said he and his wife, Jane, enjoy craft beers and thought it was something Ellettsville needed. The couple owns and operates Ellettsville Insurance next door to The Sip Craft Beer Pub. When the building where the pub is now came available, they along Micky Brafford and Shamus McPhee decided to create the pub.

The Sip Popcorn
The beers available on tap will rotate, but there will always be pours from local and state breweries, Daniels said. The goal is to keep a good balance of styles so there's something everyone will enjoy.

While there's no kitchen at this time, there is free popcorn and a variety of chips and snacks available for sale. The next step, Daniels said, is adding an outdoor space.

Once that is completed, Daniels said they may invite food trucks, establish their own food truck or develop heat-and-eat food inhouse. The addition of live music is also planned.

Hours at The Sip Craft Beer Pub are 3-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3-11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more information, check out the website or TheSipCraftBeerPub on Facebook. Read the original article here (subscription required)
